Skiing Down the Sunny Slopes

Amidst glittering peaks and traditional alpine huts in the Skiworld Ahrntal - in the sunny skiing areas of Speikboden and Klausberg you will find a lot of snow. Young and old winter sport enthusiast will undoubtedly have fun while skiing on the 76 kilometers of slopes. And for even more fun you can visit Kronplatz/Plan de Corones, which is skiing area number one with its 119 kilometers of slopes.

Winter adventures in the Dolomites
A true skiing and snowboarding paradise amidst the Pustertal Dolomites. Both, beginners and true professionals have a lot of fun at Kronplatz. With 120 kilometers of slopes and 31 ski lifts, you will certainly not get bored. The five black slopes will also provide the right adrenaline kick. Let’s go to Kronplatz! With the daily shuttle, which starts directly in front of Villa Calluna, you can easily reach this unique ski destination.

Every Tuesday, our guests can take a ski lesson for free at Plan de Corones.
The meeting point is the valley station. An instructor from the Bruneck Ski School is waiting for you and will show you the highlights of Plan de Corones for a relaxed day of skiing in South Tyrol's number-one ski area.

The winter landscape around Sand in Taufers can be perfectly explored with or even without snowshoes. This magic place is ideal to relax, enjoy nature and the peaceful atmosphere, and to take a break from the stress of everyday life. Nearby Villa Calluna there are many paths that lead to rustic alpine huts and impressive viewing platforms. Snowshoeing and winter hiking is the best way to dive into the beautiful winter wonderland.

Ice Climbing in Lofty Heights

In summer climbing - in winter ice climbing - an exciting outdoor activity in Rein in Taufers or at the Reinbach Waterfalls in Sand in Taufers. Fantastic and adventurous. This “ice cold” pleasure is only a few minutes’ drive away from Villa Calluna and if necessary, we can give you the contact of experienced mountain guides who will accompany you in case.

Cross-Country Skiing in Wonderful Winter Landscapes

The perfect place for cross-country skiing is on the high trail in Rein, along the sun trail in Kasern or the training trail in Mühlwald-Lappach. Otherwise, how about some elegant skates on the circular trail in Weißenbach? Those who like cross-country skiing will find both easy and challenging routes in the Tauferer Ahrntal Valley. In addition, cross-country skiing lessons are offered in the nearby cross-country skiing center of Rein and in the well-known biathlon center in Antholz/Anterselva, only 35 minutes by car from our villa. There you can put your sports experience to the test by participating in a biathlon tour that includes cross-country skiing and rifle shooting. Every year, internationally renowned biathlon stars as well as local professionals from South Tyrol such as Dorothea Wierer, Dominik Windisch, or Lukas Hofer train in Antholz.

Thrilling Sled Rides

Racing Down the Toboggan Slopes

A lot of fun for young and old toboggan fans. Alone, in pairs, or with other people - a fun sled ride on the toboggan run through the snowy forest or at night, on the illuminated toboggan run Klausberg is always an unforgettable experience. At Speikboden or Klauberg you can rent your toboggan and ride down the valley. Uphill it goes comfortably with the ski lift. Those who would like to spend a romantic evening can walk up to one of the three alpine lodges, enjoy culinary delights during a wonderful dinner, and then sled down to the valley again. The sled does not even need to be pulled up, because it can be borrowed directly at the lodge. Of course, this is possible also during the day.

For the Ice Prince and Princess

Sliding over the ice, turning elegant pirouettes, or curling for beginners or experienced. In Mühlen in Taufers or in Mühlwald, only a few minutes from Villa Calluna, there are two wonderful ice rinks for the entire family. The perfect compensation after a day on the slopes.

Activities for Children

Any alternatives for ski slopes?
The little ones will certainly not be bored at the children fun park „Klausiland" Klausberg. Three magic carpets, the "Klausi-Express", the "Klausi-Castle", slides and the slalom provide lots of fun. The magic carpet at the valley station Speikboden is also ideal for the first skiing experience.
Near the Meggima Lake in Mühlwald, not far from Villa Calluna (about 5-10 min by car), the Snow&fun Family Park TAMARIX, a small winter paradise for children, teenagers, and families opens. Here you get to hurtle on tubing wheels, on a snow bob or snow discs. Additionally, children and teens who are interested in taking ski lessons, can take them at the Family Park TAMARIX.

Ski Touring in the Dolomites

Cortina - Cinque Torri - Lagazuoi Ski Tour

Experience the spectacular scenery and famous peaks of the Dolomites while ski-touring in Cortina d'Ampezzo and enjoy the mountain views of the Marmolada, Tofana, Civetta, 5 Torri, and Pelmo.

La Crusc/Sasso di Santa Croce Ski Tour

This ski mountaineering excursion starts from Plan de Corones up the steep Piculin, away from the masses of tourists and amid two UNESCO natural heritages. The free ski bus takes you after a 20-minute drive to the Sapunt lifts.
La Crusc, at the foot of the Sasso di Santa Croce massif and part of the Dolomiti Superski area, is one of the most popular panoramic and gastronomic ski touring destinations in Alta Badia.

Olympia Ski Tour

This tour starts at the foot of the Tofane mountain group in the Olympic town of Cortina d'Ampezzo.
During this exciting ski mountaineering excursion, you will see the Lagazuoi mountain range, which is renowned for its First World War tunnels used throughout the war between Italian soldiers and Austrian-Hungarian Kaiserjäger.
These three Dolomite tours can be booked as guided day tours under the guidance of a ski instructor at the Ski School Bruneck.
